General Information General Information About the Department Our Vocational School Council of Higher Education General Assembly; The Property Protection and Security Department Social Security Program was opened at its meeting on 12/05/2011. Our Higher Education Council of Higher Education General Assembly; At the meeting dated 23/03/2016, it was deemed appropriate to open Social Services and Occupational Health and Safety Programs under the Property Protection and Security Department, and among these, the Occupational Health and Safety Program was first attended to education with 40 students in formal education in the 2018-2019 academic year. It was initiated. In the 2019-2020 academic year, it became active in evening education and student admission started. The program has a young and dynamic academic staff who are experts in their own fields, who will guide students and develop their students' ability to think and make decisions. Purpose of the Programs The Social Security program trains graduates who can carry out social security transactions in public institutions and private enterprises, have strong social relations and communication, closely follow current legislation, are aware of their legal responsibilities, and have basic administrative knowledge and skills. The purpose of the Occupational Health and Safety Program is to identify and find solutions to problems related to unforeseen situations in the working environment, to use basic computer software and hardware required by the profession, to have occupational safety, environmental protection knowledge and ethical values, work and occupational health to train professional staff who have comprehends the first aid, extraordinary situations, disasters and fire fighting and evacuation techniques and to do the necessary things in accordance with the rules of security laws and regulations. Program Objectives Social Security Program primarily includes Social Security Practices, Labor Law Practices, Occupational Health and Safety and Insurance areas. For this reason, it is aimed to provide students with the skills of understanding different fields of Labor Law and Social Security, specializing in at least one area of ??specialization in Labor Law and Social Security and participating in creative and unifying activities. The purpose of the Occupational Health and Safety Program is to train "Occupational Health and Safety Technician", who has all the occupational safety knowledge, skills and talents that businesses need and who are responsible. Graduates of the Program and Fields of Study Students who graduate from the program find employment opportunities in the private and public sectors. Graduates can find employment opportunities in the social security department of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), large-scale companies and multinational companies, as well as in the public sector. Turkey and continue his education by referring to the relevant degree programs in universities abroad. Degree To Be Achieved Students who successfully complete all of the courses available in the Social Security Program (equivalent to a total of 120 ECTS) and achieve at least 2.0 grade point average out of 4.00 are awarded an associate degree in Social Security. Students who successfully complete all of the courses available in the Occupational Health and Safety Program (equivalent to a total of 120 ECTS) and achieve a minimum 2.0 grade point average out of 4.00 are awarded an associate degree in Occupational Health and Safety. Admission Requirements The student who wants to enroll in the program must complete the processes determined by OSYM within the framework of the academic and legal legislation of the university and have passed the exams. A student who has started his / her education in a domestic or foreign equivalent program can apply for undergraduate transfer. More detailed information on admission to the university is available in the University Promotion Catalog. Students coming from abroad within the scope of student exchange programs approved by the university and whose limits are determined with an agreement can take the courses given in English in the department. If the student has Turkish grammar proficiency, he / she can register for any Turkish course specified in the Lesson Plan. Transition to the Upper Level Students who have successfully completed the Social Security program can apply to undergraduate programs in the SOCIAL SERVICE department or in the fields related to the department with the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) administered by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). In the Occupational Health and Safety program, it is possible to transfer to Emergency Aid and Disaster Management Department, Business Department, Health Management Department and Social Service Department with vertical Transfer Exam.
